Brothers and Sisters in Christ: We find ourselves in one of the most difficult times which many of us have ever experienced. Our Churches and communities need men and women who will come forward to the aid of those less fortunate who need our help. The Fr. William J. Kelly Council of the Knights of Columbus located at St. Mary’s church is inviting all Catholic men, together with and their families, to belong to the greatest and largest Catholic Lay Organization in the world. With increased membership, we can achieve far greater works of support for our church, our communities, and those who are less fortunate, especially our special-needs children and adults. If you are interested in learning more about the K of C and what our organization has accomplished, go to “ kofc.org”.

New Parish Safety Plan
Last summer a group of parishioners including some Pastoral Council members, ushers, and several other parishioners, including a representative from police and from EMS, began working with Fr. Fred on a Holy Spirit Safety Plan. The purpose of the plan is, to the best of our ability, ensure the safety of Mass attendees, children in faith formation, and staff in an emergency. The plan includes proactive, preventative steps as well as protocols for responding to an emergency. Emergencies include such events as a parishioner becoming ill during Mass, a disruptive person, sudden serious weather, notification by police of a dangerous person in the area, or a gas leak, etc.
Over the next few months, we will share information with parishioners about the plan in a variety of ways: from the cantor station before or after Mass, in the bulletin, on the parish Facebook page, and on the parish website. Watch for our announcements and opportunities to learn more.
